Originally established in New Orleans, the Utah Jazz is a professional level basketball team based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. When the team was founded in 1974, it was referred to as the New Orleans Jazz. Five years into its establishment, the team moved to Utah and was named the Utah Jazz.
